Brian Oftedal Brentwood

Brian Oftedal, Candidate for Brentwood City Council, District 3. His focus includes safety, sustainable growth, and community needs.

ISSUES THAT MATTER

Image

Public Safety

As an Oakland Captain/Paramedic and Commissioner for Con Fire, I bring a wealth

of experience in public safety to the table, making it a priority in my agenda.

I am dedicated to ensuring that our neighborhoods remain secure and prepared for any situation. My background equips me

to address the diverse safety needs of our community effectively.

Restoring Civility

It's time to bring civility back to our local government and put an end to the divisiveness. We must start by treating our community members and staff with the fairness, dignity, and respect they deserve. Together, let's restore Brentwood to its best by committing to a better, more inclusive future for all.

It's time for a change.

Staff Retention

The retention and recruitment of Brentwood city staff is crucial. Competitive wages and benefits are essential to retain quality employees and prevent losing them to neighboring cities.

Taking care of our employees before we lose them is imperative. It's time for a positive change in our city, and I am dedicated to making that happen.

Smart Growth

Brentwood needs intelligent, realistic, and orderly growth. Working with developers, not alienating them, is vital. We should prioritize workforce housing, maintain local control, and preserve our small-town feel.

Elected officials must ensure that new development fully funds increased services for education, traffic, and public safety while embracing the growth that retains our unique local charm.

Local Fire Protection

As a dedicated firefighter, I am committed to enhancing fire protection in Brentwood and East Contra Costa County.

My goal is to improve response times and safety measures while continuously striving to safeguard our community. I promise to prioritize the well-being of our residents

and ensure the continual improvement

of fire protection services.

Local Road Safety

The Brentwood Council must begin to prioritize road safety by addressing safety issues at Vineyards Parkway and planning for the extension of American Avenue.

It's imperative to establish a realistic

vision for local road safety and focus on proactive measures to ensure the safety

and accessibility of our community for all residents and visitors alike.

Brian Oftedal for Brentwood District 3

Business Development

I am wholeheartedly committed to championing our local businesses in Brentwood. I pledge to work closely with the Downtown Brentwood Coalition to ensure the continued economic prosperity of our city. Together, we will fuel the success of our downtown area and expand it citywide, creating vibrant and thriving environments for all businesses in our community.

Image

Homelessness

Homelessness is not a crime. As a dedicated councilmember, I will encourage the council to work collaboratively with Brentwood's Police Department, Community Enrichment team, Public Works Department, and regional partners like Contra Costa County C.O.R.E. team to address this concern. Together, we can provide assistance and find more permanent solutions for our homeless population.

Image

Emergency Preparedness

I am committed to ensuring the safety and preparedness of our community. Don't wait for an emergency – let's proactively equip our households and neighborhoods with vital resources. My goal is to enhance accessibility to safety measures in Brentwood.
Together, we can create a safer environment for all. Let's start preparing today for a secure tomorrow.
